Egypt: LE600 Million Worth Exports of Medical and Aromatic Plants

Industry and Foreign Trade Minister, Dr. Mahmoud Eissa affirmed that the sector of medical and aromatic plants is considered one of the most important and promising one which should be given more attention as this sector depends on medium and small industries.

Those exports came basically from upper Egypt, exports of the medical and aromatic plants reached LE600 million and gave more than 140,000 job opportunities. Lands cultivated for this sector reached almost 70,000 feddans.

The minister was addressing a conference on developing the industries of such plants.

The conference was attended by agriculture and land reclamation minister.
