Muslim pilgrims cast stones at a pillar, symbolizing the stoning of Satan, in Mena, Saudi Arabia, Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011.
Millions of Muslims have converged in the desert of Mena near the Saudi Arabia's holy city of Mecca to continue the Hajj pilgrimage rituals.

More than 2.5 million pilgrims are in Mena to throw stones at a symbol of Satan on the day of Eid Al-Adha or Feast of Sacrifice on Sunday.

The day marks the peak of the Hajj during which pilgrims slaughter sheep and cattle and have their heads shaved.

The five-day ceremony is meant to symbolize the essential concepts of the Islamic faith.

The Major Hajj, which is considered the largest pilgrimage in the world, is a major expression of Muslim unity in their submission to Allah.

Muslims across the world head to the holy city of Mecca to perform the Hajj rituals, a compulsory exercise of worship for all Muslims that are physically and financially able.
