The Untold Story Of The WWII Dentist Who Killed 100 Men Before Being Shot 76 Times

In 1942, Benjamin Lewis Salomon joined the US Army.

Hailing from humble beginnings in Milwaukee, and eventually going on to own his own dental practice, Benjamin Salomon never could have imagined he would one day be one of only three dental officers in the U.S. Army to receive the Medal of Honor.

Salomon started out in the Army as an infantry private.

In the mornings he would work on soldiers teeth, and in the afternoon, he would teach infantry tactics. Soon, his superiors began to notice how valuable he was becoming to the Infantry.

He proved to be an expert rifle and pistol marksman and soon worked his way up to a sergeant. Eventually, he was transferred to the Army Dental Corps and commissioned to be a first lieutenant.

He was even awarded the title of “best all-around soldier” in his unit.

In May of 1944, Salomon was promoted to a captain of the 105th Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Division. He had proved himself in training, and his superiors were eager to see him prove himself in battle.

They didn’t have to wait long.

Just one month after becoming captain, Salomon saw his first battle. He had no way of knowing it would also be his last.

As there was not much dental work to be done during active combat, Salomon volunteered to go ashore in Saipan with the 105th Infantry’s battalion. He would replace the 2nd Battalion’s surgeon, who had been wounded in a prior battle.

At this point, the Americans had decimated a huge part of the Japanese Army, killing nearly 30,000 soldiers. So, Japanese commander General Yoshitsugu Saito came up with a new plan of attack — attack while advancing, and keep attacking until you die.

And attack and advance they did. With no more regard for their own lives, the Japanese invaded the front lines, spending 15 hours shooting at the Americans.

When they attacked, Salomon was 50 yards from the front lines, watching over 30 wounded soldiers in his aid tent. Seeing the Japanese advancing, he ordered his staff to evacuate the wounded, telling them he would hold the Japanese off until everyone was safe.

His infantry never saw him alive again.

When they returned after the battle they found him surrounded by 98 dead Japanese soldiers, all of whom he had killed alone. He had been shot 76 different times, 24 of them while he was potentially still alive.

The day he was found, his fellow infantrymen began preparing a recommendation for the Medal of Honor.

He had taken out nearly 100 enemy soldiers on his own and had saved the lives of countless wounded soldiers.

Initially, the request was turned down. According to the rules of the Geneva Convention, medical professionals cannot bear arms against the enemy. It also states that the medal cannot be awarded for actions taken on the “offensive.”

However, the request was ultimately approved, due to a number of lives saved, and bravery displayed by Salomon.

In 2002, President George W. Bush posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor to Benjamin Lewis Salomon. It is displayed at the USC Dental School, where Salomon attended.

In addition to the Medal of Honor, Benjamin Salomon was awarded a Purple Heart, the American Defense Service Medal, The American Campaign Medal, The Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.

BIG Changes Coming To Jack In The Box…

Jack in the Box isn’t exactly known for their “high-class” fare. But even they have sunk to a new low.

Hoping to cash in on the legalization of marijuana sweeping the nation, the fast-food chain is offering what they call “Munchie Meals” to their stoned customers.

The burger joint is even teaming up with notorious pothead Snoop Dogg’s “Merry Jane” marijuana site to offer the “Merry Munchie Meal” for $4.20, the unofficial code for smoking pot.

The “Munchie Meal “ consists of “halfsies,” like a half-order of onion rings and French fries, along with tacos, churros, chicken strips and a drink. It’s perfect for the nitwit pothead who has to eat something – anything.

It’s perfect for potheads “whether you’re at a concert, up late playing video games, or pulling an all-nighter,” says Iwona Alter, Jack in the Box’s marketing chief. “We are about welcoming all of our guests, no matter what they’re craving or why they’re craving it.”

Nice, eh? They even have a 30-second commercial targeting dimwitted stoners.

The “Munchie Meal” has been around for a few years, and usually, they target potheads, but this is the first time they’re hooking up directly with a site that promotes marijuana use.

Sadly, you’re ne’er-do-well son sitting in the basement likely won’t have a chance to inhale the greasy goodies. They’re only available for one week from Jan. 18 to Jan. 25 and will only be available at three California locations, where retail marijuana will be legal starting Monday.

“Launching the Merry Munchie Meal is the perfect way for both companies to celebrate legalization in our shared home state of California,” Scott Chung, chief operations officer of Merry Jane told the New York Post.

“Merry Jane is the industry leader bridging mainstream brands and legal cannabis culture,” Chung said. “Leveraging our Emmy-nominated content production, Merry Jane has created a campaign with Jack in the Box that marries our brands’ voices.”

Jack in the Box is all in with connecting with the drug culture.

“Jack’s Munchie Meals have been successful for us because of the authenticity of how we speak to our customers. This partnership is one more way for us to connect with them…We are about welcoming all of our guests, no matter what they’re craving or why they’re craving it,” Iwona Alter, Chief Marketing Officer of Jack in the Box, said in a statement.

It’s not surprising that Jack in the Box would gravitate to a weed-friendly promotion. Its humorous 2014 TV ads marketing the chain’s Munchie Meals quickly came to be known as “stoner commercials.”

There’s a video-game-playing young man slumped on his couch as Jack suggests grabbing some late-night Munchie Meals.

In another, a clearly stoned young woman on a bean bag chair, a lava lamp bubbling in the background, asks Jack if he’d rather have “spoons for hands or elbows for ears.” Neither, says Jack. He’d rather have food, as in a Munchie Meal.

What do you think? Is this a wise move for Jack in the Box? Do you eat there? Sound off below and let us know if you’re going to go out and get a “Merry Munchie Meal”!

Farmers’ Markets Are Now Racist For A Reason You Won’t Believe…

America’s Favorite Fast Food Chain Is In Danger Of Going Out Of Business

Subway, the world’s largest restaurant chain, may have reached its tipping point.

According to Business Insider, the sandwich giant isn’t nearly as popular as it used to be. Consumers once turned to Subway for healthy, fresh food. Now, they’re going elsewhere.  Franchisees, meanwhile, complain the chain’s promotions have proven unprofitable.

Oversaturation has created internal competition, so store count has dramatically dropped. Further closures are expected in the upcoming year.

Business Insider reports:

The sandwich chain’s US store count has dropped by 909 this year, almost three times as many locations as the year before. Subway has 25,835 shops open and operating in the US, according to a representative, compared with 26,744 at the end of 2016.

But this year could just be the tip of the iceberg for Subway’s closures.

Business Insider spoke with three franchisees from different regions of the US about the state of the chain. They all say others are bracing themselves for more bad news and speculating on the state of the business.

Citing internal conversations and national sales numbers, one estimated that up to one-third of Subway’s locations were unprofitable.

Another cited conversations with Subway’s development agents — franchisees responsible for developing an entire region — who are speculating that many more closings are on the way.

[…] Last week, the New York Post reported that roughly 400 franchisees were protesting the chain’s plan to bring back the $5 footlong deal. On Monday, Subway’s head of North American marketing, Karlin Linhardt, resigned from the company.

And traffic has fallen 25% over the past five years, the Post reported, citing an internal memo it obtained.

Subway said it was “realigning markets to ensure the right Subway restaurants are in the right locations,” remodeling restaurants, introducing new products, and refining operations. A spokesman wouldn’t comment on the number of store closures expected in 2018.

Subway is no longer seen by the public as a reliable source for fresh food. One franchisee told Business Insider that the company has stopped ordering local food on a daily basis. Apparently, it’s become far more common for Subway to order once a week, opting for longer refrigeration.

Without its healthy edge on other, greasier fast food options, Subway is having a hard time maintaining its niche in the market.

Lettuce is a staple for sandwiches, and it doesn’t refrigerate well. According to BI’s franchisee source, if demand is high, Subway will order fresh food twice a week.

Business Insider continues:

“By the end of the week … the lettuce is just a massive problem,” she said, describing its taste after a few days as “shredded paper.”

“I can’t eat the lettuce, and that’s a problem, and I’ve told them,” she said. “They’re just not listening.”

The franchisee said the company’s reliance on specific suppliers and refusal to entertain the idea of adding fresher options was especially frustrating as customers demand cleaner labels and higher-quality food.

In a statement to Business Insider, Subway said it worked with more than 100 family farms and suppliers in the US to help make sure its restaurants have fresh produce. But the company would not say whether shipments were delivered only once or twice a week.

That’s an old trick that just isn’t working anymore. Consumers, particularly those once loyal to Subway, are more educated on nutrition today.

Sara Bamossy, the chief strategy officer at Pitch, an advertising agency, told BI that “To create or to rekindle loyalty and sales, it is not enough to label something as ‘natural,’ and it’s not enough to be affordably priced.”

That means promotions such as the $5 foot long aren’t as profitable as they once were. Modern consumers want to know that their food is fresh, and they’re no longer willing to make an exception if the food’s cheap. New Antibiotic-free updates to Subway’s menu, apparently, just aren’t enough.

While other fast food restaurants have produced more menu options, Subway has remained relatively stagnant.

Promotional options are limited as well. The company needs to make a change fast, but they obviously can’t turn to their shamed former spokesman Jared Fogle, who plead guilty to possession of child pornography and sex with minors.

When the face of Subway is in prison for such despicable crimes, it’s hard to start over.

Subway still has 25,835 locations in the US. If they continue their downward spiral, however, the company could be in big trouble.

Dems Flip Out Over Video Mocking Hillary Clinton – by Seth Connell

Soon it will be 2018, and it seems that some liberals are finally ready to move on from the disaster that is Hillary Clinton. That includes the folks over at Vanity Fair, who were more than willing to make a satirical video offering her some “advice” going into the new year.

However, if you’re still on the Hillary train, you’re probably not going to be very amused with the video. Indeed, liberals across the internet are absolutely outraged by the fact that Vanity Fair would have the audacity to criticize or mock the Chosen One in any way, shape, or form.

Watch for yourself below; they have some legitimate feedback for her!

Some of the suggestions included writing a new book, “What The Hell Happened.”

They also suggested a new hobby, things like “volunteer work, knitting, improv comedy, literally anything that will keep you from running again.”

One of the best was the suggestion to “finally put away your James Comey voodoo doll. Now we all know you think that James Comey cost you the election–and he might have–but so did a handful of other things. It’s a year later and time to move on.”

The Daily Caller notes that the video sparked so much outrage that there is even a #CancelVanityFair trend on Twitter. The Left is going after an outlet that has long been one of their own, all for attacking the one person who is apparently off-limits to any sort of criticism or humor.

https://twitter.com/2HeartsWellness/status/945824546459922437

Former Clinton adviser Peter Daou just had to hop on board this bandwagon since his idol was under attack.

Some have even decided to cancel their subscription because of the video.

In spite of the fact that it has been over a year since Hillary lost to Donald Trump, these bitter-clingers are bitterly clinging on to what they imagined to be reality. They all imagined that Hillary’s election was inevitable, and their march towards cosmopolitan Statism was all but sealed.

Yet that was not to happen, and since their bubble burst, it has messed with their minds. The hatred and contempt for anything regarding Donald Trump is rooted in the fact that their false reality was destroyed that November. And if anyone attacks their goddess, no matter who, that person must be destroyed.

All of these gripers claim that Hillary Clinton is such an accomplished person and was the most qualified person to ever run for the presidency.

So I guess things like running weapons to terrorists, enabling the downfall of a regime that turned into a jihadist wonderland (Libya), laundering millions of dollars meant for earthquake victims in Haiti to her own personal slush fund, and rigging a primary election all constitute accomplishments deserving of the presidency? How things have changed since the great presidencies of Washington, Jefferson, and Coolidge.

All that many of us can say, regardless of our thoughts on Donald Trump, is that we are grateful for the fact that Hillary Clinton is not President.

After Banning Confederate Memorials, Dems Now Focus On Destroying The Founders – by Brittany Soares

Leftists have managed to claim victory over the imagined evils of monuments commemorating the Civil War. Names have been changed, statues have come down, and the Confederate Battle Flag has been banned.

Now, the left is going after our Founding Fathers.

At James Madison Memorial High School in Verona, Wisconsin, a student is petitioning to have the name of her school changed. Why?

The student claims that the “significance of this name in association with my school has a negative effect on memorials [sic] black students. The lack of representation I feel in this school makes me feel more than unsafe.” The Weekly Standard reports that to date, the petition has received more than 1,500 signatures.

The petition on Change.org points out that America’s fourth president had over 100 slaves, and that fact makes the petitioner, Mya Berry, feel “unsafe.” She said that she has been called the “n-word” many times and was even threatened with a “lynching.”

This is an incredibly slippery slope. All of America’s Founding Fathers were imperfect men. Most were slave-owners, and I have no doubt others were genuine scoundrels.

But we owe them a debt of gratitude no matter what sins they may have committed. As Jay Cost writes: “If I contract somebody to paint my house, and I find out later that he is an adulterer, does that excuse me from paying what I owe? Of course not. By the same token, my debt for the painting does not oblige me to act as though he did not wrong his spouse.”

So it goes with the Founders who owned slaves: We should appreciate them for their endeavors, for our lives are manifestly better because of their struggles, but honoring them does not require us to ignore or excuse their errors. Madison’s home Montpelier, for example, just opened an exhibition, “The Mere Distinction of Colour,” exploring slavery at the plantation.

Wiping out America’s history because there are parts of it that are unsettling or unappealing is a leftist way of trying to re-write what this country was founded upon. If you can depict America’s founders as malevolent, evil men, you can paint the entire nation that way.

Wiping the Founders from the public memory, moreover, endangers the perpetuation of our republic. They were no doubt flawed men, but they were flawed men who invented this system of government. If we wish to make the most of our government, we have to understand how it functions. That requires us to understand what these men thought and did. The decisions they made, and the assumptions behind them, reverberate through the generations, into the present day. Public memorials are a way to keep us mindful of their continued influence, so that as we endeavor to understand civil society, we remember to look to them.

Newsweek contemplates the reasons liberals would find to revolt against the Founding Fathers next:

At first sight, the conflicts of the Civil War era appear radically different from other parts of US history. This was a war explicitly fought over the issue of slavery, and without slavery, it would not have happened, or at least not with remotely comparable passion and savagery.

Surely, we assume, the same was not true of the time of the Revolutionary War.

Yes, many of the Founding Fathers owned slaves, often on a substantial scale, and that was true not just of Washington and Jefferson but of the Madisons, Monroes, Lees, Rutledges, Harrisons, and Randolphs.

Unsurprisingly, the slavery issue surfaced repeatedly in the debates over the Constitution. But the defense of slavery did not stir or drive the revolutionary cause, as it would in 1861.

Many slave-owning Patriots were deeply ambiguous about the institution, and felt that its days were numbered. True abolitionism, meanwhile, was a marginal political phenomenon.

From this perspective, then, slavery was a regrettable fact of the time, but the Revolutionary War was just not about slavery, it was not a war for slavery, and it need not inspire sensitivities about racist commemoration.

With some relief, like earlier generations, we can still view the struggle for independence as a paradigmatic struggle for human liberty and national aspirations, embodying at once the highest goals of Christian humanism and the Enlightenment.

But as an intellectual exercise, imagine all the contemporary campaigners against white supremacy and racial oppression, in their ongoing quest to explore and purge historical vestiges of slavery and segregation, wherever they might appear. The ammunition for them in that Revolutionary era is actually quite abundant.

The Revolutionary War era will be the next terrain for struggles over historical revisionism, and it’s time to prepare for the debates. It is already starting to happen.

In late October a Virginia Episcopal church dating back to the 18th century decided to move a plaque honoring George Washington because it might make some parishioners uncomfortable.

It’s only going to get worse from here.

Close Call – Bus Sized Asteroid Discovered on Christmas Barely Misses Earth

Ho ho holy cow, that was a close call. An asteroid the size of a bus, discovered for the first time on Christmas Day, just squeaked by Earth, barely avoiding a disastrous impact.

The asteroid, dubbed 2017 YZ4, passed between the Earth and the moon at a distance of 139,433 miles which, in astronomical terms, is within an eyelash. And because it was discovered mere days ago, it is unlikely that anything could have been done to avert a collision if it were headed toward our planet.

To put into context how close it was, NASA identifies an asteroid as “hazardous” if it is within 4,600,000 miles of Earth.

The asteroid is the 42nd to pass between the Earth and the moon in 2017, and was discovered at Mount Lemmon Survey Observatory in Arizona, the Express reported.

“This is the first known asteroid to flyby Earth within one lunar distance since two such asteroids flew past us 35 minutes apart on November 21, and the 52nd this year,” a NASA spokesperson said.

“As of December 24, there are 17,495 known Near-Earth Objects (NEOs) around our planet; 17,389 are asteroids. This year, we discovered 1,985 new near Earth asteroids. There were 1888 such objects discovered in 2016 and 1,571 in 2015,” they said.

As the Daily Mail reported, Earth would not be able to do anything significant to mitigate damages with only days notice.

Currently Nasa would not be able to deflect an asteroid if it were heading for Earth but it could mitigate the impact and take measures that would protect lives and property.

This would include evacuating the impact area and moving key infrastructure.

Finding out about the orbit trajectory, size, shape, mass, composition and rotational dynamics would help experts determine the severity of a potential impact.

However, the key to mitigating damage is to find any potential threat as early as possible.

NASA classifies anything within six million miles of Earth as a “near Earth asteroid,” and it is currently working on ways to deflect an impact, the Mail reported.

Nasa is currently moving forward with a refrigerator-sized spacecraft capable of preventing asteroids from colliding with Earth. A test with a small, nonthreatening asteroid is planned for 2024.

This is the first-ever mission to demonstrate an asteroid deflection technique for planetary defence.

The Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) would use what is known as a kinetic impactor technique—striking the asteroid to shift its orbit.

The impact would change the speed of a threatening asteroid by a small fraction of its total velocity, but by doing so well before the predicted impact, this small nudge will add up over time to a big shift of the asteroid’s path away from Earth.

In 2013, a video of an asteroid in the skies above Chelyabinsk in Russia captured the eye of the Internet as it was shared frequently on social media.

That asteroid exploded with the force of 500,000 tons of TNT and injured more than 1,000 people.

A far more dangerous asteroid, named 3200 Phaethon, made its closest known approach to Earth at a distance of around 6 million miles — and it’s getting closer.

The 3.6 mile-wide rock is scheduled to swing by again in 2093, at a scary, but safe, distance of 1.8 million miles.

Here Are All The Places The Minimum Wage Is Going Up Across The US

The 5 Worst Fake Gun Stories of 2017

Because the Trump administration and our Republican-controlled Congress is pro-Second Amendment, we’ve seen plenty of scare tactics in the news this year regarding guns.

It seems the mainstream media does whatever it can to make Americans frightened at the very mention of gun rights.

Much of the reporting this year has been completely fake. As the year comes to a close, let’s take a look back at five of the worst fake stories on guns from 2017.

1 USA Today

Unnamed editors at USA Today compiled a list of accessories that can by added to an AR-15. Their list includes a trigger crank, 100-round drum magazine, multiple magazine holders, under-barrel shotgun, night-vision and thermal-vision scopes, and a chain-saw bayonet.

USA Today even tweeted out a video of an AR-15 with an actual chainsaw somehow mounted to the bottom of the gun.

Obviously, a chainsaw would seriously weigh down the rifle. Does this “accessory” require an extension cord?

Twitter users immediately mocked this ridiculous story.

2 CNN

Following the shooting of Republican congressmen at a softball game, CNN produced an article that gave absolutely bogus statistics on mass shootings.

Another report by Vox uses more fake news to support CNN’s claims.

The Daily Signal reports:

The entire article is an interview—conducted by email—with the president of the (mostly irrelevant) Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.

The reporter did not “email interview” any pro-Second Amendment group or activist for any balance. CNN didn’t even include that House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., who almost died in the politically motivated shooting, had not changed his views on protecting the Second Amendment from any further infringement.

Also, there seems to be no one employed by CNN who has any knowledge of firearms statistics. Jim Acosta, the senior White House correspondent, tweeted: “Since Sandy Hook there have been at least 1,552 mass shootings, with at least 1,767 people killed and 6,227 wounded.”

Acosta, who has almost a half-million followers on Twitter, was not actually citing CNN, but an article in the left-wing outlet Vox.

Click through the article and you’ll see the data it contains is riddled with errors. It takes statistics from a group called “Gun Violence Archive,” which makes up out of whole cloth the definition of “mass shooting” to include people who are shot, but not killed. The group includes “news reports” for media sources instead of citing law enforcement agencies.

Nowhere in the article does Vox mention that there is an official government definition of “mass shooting,” which is four or more people killed outside the home in one incident.

In fact, the number of people killed annually in mass shootings has been an average of 23 over the last 30 years […]

That statistic is from leading gun control voice in Congress Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., who gets her data from the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service.

3. NBC News

NBC published a story five years after Sandy Hook claiming that no new gun control laws have been passed since the shooting. Of course, NBC sees that as a bad thing, and blames the NRA. According to NBC, gun control groups just can’t compete with the NRA’s resources.

But The Daily Signal points out that gun control groups “receive tens of millions of dollars from billionaire former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, while the NRA is funded by its grassroots members.”

The article is shamelessly one-sided. It had to be, though. If NBC had allowed 2nd Amendment supporters the chance to defend themselves, they would have pointed out that real reason Congress hasn’t passed more gun control laws since Sandy Hook is because there isn’t any evidence that new laws would prevent any crimes. Of course, they would manage to create plenty.

4. The Economist

The Economist published a story this November that ignored government agency statistics in favor of the scarier, misleading statistics from the far-left Mother Jones.

The story claims that the AR-15 “was prohibited in 1994, but legalized in 2004 when America’s assault-weapons ban expired.”

The Economist fails to mention, however, that the reason why the rifle was legalized again in 2004 was because Congress noted that the ban didn’t decrease the number of homicides by rifle.

Including that important detail, however, would have ruined the terrifying tone the Economist was going for.

5. The Associated Press

The Associated Press published a story this month claiming that authorities recovered a 40mm pistol.

A 40mm pistol would be rather odd.

The pistol was more likely a .40 caliber.

The Daily Signal reports:

Many of these mistakes would be funny if they weren’t rooted in ideological narrowness. They show how the mainstream media deliberately attempts to confuse the public in order to build support for more gun control laws.

At a higher level, the repeated bad reporting in just one area of public debate that shows the top editors and managers in mainstream media assign reporters to cover gun crime, without any expertise on the subject, research into data, or fact-checking.

If it weren’t for conservative media and informed social media users, the average American might walk the streets in fear of being attacked by someone wielding a rifle with a chainsaw attached to the bottom.

Should we get used to this nonsense? Are we in for another round of bogus reporting in 2018?

Tell us what you think, and sound off in the comments below.

Shocking Survey Shows Just How Ignorant Americans Are About Their Government – by Regan Pifer

What will end this great American Republic quicker than any Presidency, protest, Congress, or calamity?

The people themselves.

When Founding Father Benjamin Franklin left what is now Constitutional Hall in Philadelphia, a few women approached him on the street and eagerly asked him, “Mr. Franklin! Mr. Franklin! What did you decide? What was decided?”

Their question, of course, was directed to the activities inside Constitution Hall.

After scraping the Articles of Confederation and starting from scratch, the eager women wanted to know what in fact the Founders had decided.

What kind of government do we now have?

What will our day-to-day life look like now?

Franklin’s response?

“A Republic, madam…if you can keep it.”

What did Franklin mean?

Republics are tenuous and unstable creatures. Before the United States, no republic had lasted long. The idea that people could govern themselves was fairly new and unproven.

In order for a republic to survive, it was believed there must be an educated and virtuous citizenry. Based off of the latest studies, however, it looks like our educated citizenry is M.I.A.

According to Study Finds:

A sizable portion of the American public seems to show little interest in the fabric of the country’s government and history, a new survey finds.

Researchers at the Annenberg Public Policy Center (APPC) surveyed over 1,000 American adults, finding a shocking lack of knowledge as it pertains to U.S. politics among the general populace.

Fifty-three percent of respondents believed the falsehood that illegal immigrants aren’t granted any constitutional rights, while 37 percent couldn’t even name a single right endowed by the First Amendment […]

[O]nly 26 percent of Americans could name all three branches of the federal government — that would be the executive, legislative, and judicial, for those playing at home.

While conservatives were more likely to be able to name all three branches than liberals or moderates, the overall proportion of the public that can name all three has fallen by 12 percent since 2011.

Perhaps most embarrassing: a full third of respondents couldn’t name a single federal branch of government, a figure that hasn’t shifted over the past half-decade.

This is sad and also terrifying.

How can anyone protect their constitutional rights if they don’t know what their constitutional rights are?

How can individuals hold their leaders accountable if they do not know what their positions entail?

If we want to keep this Republic, as Franklin warned, some massive work and education must occur. Civics programs must be brought back to schools. Those programs have been systematically eliminated from schools, something that the Left is rather proud of, especially one of John Podesta’s advisers as revealed by Wikileaks.

And as I’ve mentioned, we’ve all been quite content to demean government, drop civics and in general conspire to produce an unaware and compliant citizenry.

What a terrifying idea, and right there in writing!

This is not a right-leaning or left-leaning issue. It is an American issue =, an issue for our republic.

Anyone that tries to tell you different would rather have our country crumble than to secure the freedoms of his fellow Americans.

Contrary to popular belief, the United States Constitution is not daunting. It is readable. It is meant for you to read.

And for those of you who got the three branches of government wrong, I’d like to introduce you to a little something known as Schoolhouse Rock. You’re welcome.

Have you faced this sort of ignorance? Or are you intimidated by what seems like an overwhelming amount of information and don’t know where to start?

Top 10 Cities For Murder in The USA All Have One Unusual Thing in Common

When you are more concerned with social justice than you are with actual justice, people’s lives are in danger. Such is the case for the top 10 cities for murder in the United States.

Those cities all have one thing in common. They all are run by Democrat mayors and, in the majority of cases, have been for decades.

10: Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The city, which played host to wholesome family television shows “Happy Days” and “Laverne and Shirley,” has been run by Mayor Tom Barrett since 2004.

The murder rate of the city is 24.15 per 100,000 people. With a population of 600,000 the city had 145 murders in 2015.

Brew City has had either a Democrat or socialist mayor since 1948.

9. Salinas, California.

Salinas has a population of 158,185 and had 40 murders in 2015. That is a rate of 25.29.

The hometown of Van Halen’s Sammy Hagar is run by Democrat Joe Gunter.

8. Hartford, Connecticut.

From January 6, 1948 until today, Hartford has had only one Republican mayor. The other 15, including current Mayor Luke Bronin, have all been Democrats.

And for that, the city boasts a murder rate of 25.69 per 100,000.

7. Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

With a population of 228,727, the city had 60 murders in 2015. A rate of 26.23 per 100,000.

Its current mayor is Democrat Sharon Weston Broome. She was preceded by fellow Democrat Melvin “Kip” Holden.

6. Jackson, Mississippi.

Another city with decades of Democrat rule, Jackson has a stunning 31.08 per 100,000 citizens murder rate. It’s currently headed by Chokwe Antar Lumumba, whose father Chokwe Lumumba also a Democrat, died in office in 2014.

#5. Birmingham, Alabama.

Ruled by Democrats for decades, the city has a murder rate of 37.21 per 100,000. It had 79 murders in 2015 and has a population of 212,291.

4. New Orleans, Louisiana.

The Big Easy is known for its jazz, its nightlife, its Mardi Gras parade, some “Girls Gone Wild” videos, and a much less celebratory distinction: having the fourth worst murder rate in America. With a population of 393,447 it had 164 murders in 2015 for a 41.68 per 100,000 murder rate.

3. Detroit, Michigan.

The Motor City has not seen a Republican mayor in office since 1962. With eight consecutive Democrat mayors, including current Mayor Mike Duggan, Detroit is one of the most dangerous cities in America. The murder rate of the city, with a population of 673,225, is 43.82 and it was besieged by 295 murders in 2015.

2. Baltimore, Maryland.

The city that was outraged enough by the death of career criminal Freddie Gray that it rioted, burned buildings, and destroyed property in 2015, has shown no such outrage over its sky high murder rate of 55.37 per 100,000.

The same year Gray died in the back of a police van, Baltimore experienced 344 murders. It was the most murders in the city in one year. Followed in 2016 by another 318 murders.

Baltimore has been ruled by Democrat mayors since 1967.

1. St. Louis, Missouri.

St. Louis is another city that has experienced riots over a police involved killing of another career criminal. Anthony Lamar Smith was killed, while he was out on parole, after engaging police in a high speed chase. The city was rocked by riots after the officer who killed Smith was acquitted in Sept. 2017.

But, as in Baltimore, the same outrage has not been shown for the city’s 59.29 per 100,000 murder rate. The highest in the nation.

The River City has not seen a Republican mayor since 1949.

Do you live in a city or town run by a Democrat mayor? If not, would you consider moving to one?

Tell us in the comments.

Twitter questions Jason Kenney claim that Alberta has seen 2 years of population decline

United Conservative Party leader Jason Kenney has come under fire for a tweet in which he incorrectly stated that Alberta’s population has declined for the past two years.

“200,000 unemployed Albertans, 40,000 have stopped looking for work, two years of population decline, tens of thousands of bankrupt businesses,” Kenney said in the tweet.

“And now the NDP makes it even tougher for employees to create jobs.”

The response to Kenney’s tweet was swift, with one Alberta-based economist asking him to clarify which two years he was talking about.

Another pointed out that the population in Alberta hasn’t fallen since 1946.

In fact, Statistics Canada data shows that Alberta’s population in the last two years has actually increased.

The population rose by 1.2 per cent this year and by 1.4 per cent and 1.7 per cent in the preceding years.

Several people responding on Twitter suggested Kenney had intentionally fudged the numbers and others asked him to provide his sources, saying they had found “very different figures.”

One person asked whether he had “pulled these numbers out of the air?”

Others, however, expressed their support for Kenney.

And one person even offered an explanation for the gaffe, saying Kenney may have been referring to interprovincial migration.

The latest report from the province shows that interprovincial migration increased in the third quarter of 2017 for the first time in two years.

Interprovincial migration is the movement from one province or territory to another, resulting in a permanent change in residence.

The Alberta government’s numbers show that up until the most recent quarter, for two years the province had more people leaving than arriving via interprovincial migration. However, Alberta’s population overall was still growing during that time.

770 CHQR Global News Radio has reached out to Kenney for comment and will update this story once we receive a response.

The Simple Lesson From Trump’s Win Democrats REFUSE to Learn

Another Lunatic Dem Snaps; Succumbs to Trump Derangement Syndrome – by Brian Thomas

Democratic Congresswoman Jackie Speier unleashed deranged accusations against President Trump on MSNBC this week, accusing him of seeking a dictatorship.

“I am concerned that the president of the United States is systematically trying to shut down every possible branch of government but the presidency,” Speier said on MSNBC on Tuesday. “So you got him attacking the judiciary, you have him attacking the CIA, you have him attacking the Department of Justice, the FBI. I mean this is the conduct of someone who could become a tyrant if we don’t step in and speak out against him.”

MSNBC’s Katy Tur asked Speier if she believed President Trump’s challenging bias in the FBI constituted “witness tampering.” That’s when Speier went on a tirade, accusing Trump of destroying every part of government besides the presidency in an effort to achieve dictatorship.

“I think that he is being so unpresidential,” Speier continued, “and he is undermining the very foundation of this country and the institutions that we hold so dear.”

Even MSNBC seemed to think that was bizarre, as Tur quickly changed the subject.

This isn’t the first time Speier has accused Trump of seeking dictatorship. She tweeted similar remarks both the day after and the day before Christmas.

On Tuesday, Speier tweeted that the President is “trying to shut down every branch of the federal government except for the presidency.”

On Christmas Eve, Speier compared the president to “dictators like Lenin and Stalin.”

Speier also claimed that the president “does not respect the rule of law” on Tuesday, speaking to CNN.

The Hill reports:

Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) sharply criticized President Trump on Tuesday for his repeated attacks against Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe and other FBI agents connected to the special counsel investigation into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 elections.

Speaking on CNN, Speier said Tuesday that Trump was “constantly putting down the very institutions that keep us free.”

“I think the president has always used the same tactic,” the California Democrat said. “When he is being attacked, when he is being scrutinized, he takes aim at someone else and that’s what he’s doing right here.”

Trump “does not respect the rule of law,” Speier said.

“Let’s be really clear: This president does not respect the rule of law, nor does he respect the various agencies … that are charged with the responsibility of protecting us,” she said.

“If you think about the pattern over the last year, he is constantly putting down the very institutions that keep us free,” she added.

Michael Caputa, former adviser for the Trump campaign, defends President Trump’s tweets about bias in the FBI as an “insurance policy for the American people.” The Federalist Papers reported on Caputa’s statements here.

President Trump accused several people, with significant evidence, of bias. According to Congresswoman Speier, that’s all it takes to make him a tyrant.

Has Speier absolutely lost it, or are Democrats getting so desperate to terrify the American public that they’ll use any bogus accusation they think they can get away with?

State Supreme Court Hands Gun Owners a Victory

The Supreme Court of Iowa recently handed American gun owners a small victory in mid-December, as lawful concealed carriers will no longer be prohibited from carrying in parts of county and municipal courthouses.

In the spring of 2017, the Iowa state legislature passed a sweeping set of laws that lifted restrictions on gun owners. Among those reforms included a provision allowing those with concealed carry permits to carry at the state capitol.

However, shortly after that reform package was passed, Supreme Court Justice Mark Cady issue an order banning firearms in all Iowa courthouses. That order was taken to court, and Cady handed down a decision reversing his own June edict, lifting the ban on carrying in courthouses, as Valley News Today reports.

The order is not a carte blanche license to carry in all parts of courthouses. One may only carry in the public areas, not in places that are totally occupied by the court system (a courtroom itself, for example). However, in order to enact a legal carry setup, local officials have some steps they will need to take.

The revised order allows county supervisors or other local government officials to file a written request to allow guns in the buildings.

When a request is made, the chief judge of the judicial district must write an order allowing guns in public areas that are not totally occupied by the court system.

Once a judge enters the order allowing guns, the state court system relinquishes to the requesting entity any authority over the regulation of weapons in the public areas, Cady’s order said.

Some courthouses, like the Pottawattamie County Courthouse, have security systems like metal detectors installed. Given that these courthouses may be areas where lawful permit holders can carry, such courthouses will have to alter their security regulations to accommodate those lawfully exercising their right to bear arms.

County Sheriff Jeff Danker has stated that controlled access will remain in place, but clearly something will have to change should their concealed carry regulations change. For the time being, Pottatattamie does not allow carry.

County Supervisor Justin Schultz believes that permit holders should be able to carry in the courthouse. As someone who describes himself as very pro-Second Amendment, he wants the ability to do so himself.

“It could be done with certain restrictions. I can’t carry at times, and it bothers me,” Schultz said. “You don’t want to be the guy without a gun in a gun fight, and you never know what’s going to happen when you walk out the door.”

Fellow supervisor Tom Hanafan is not as on board with the idea, saying that judges should be able to act as they see fit to protect their employees.

Of course, no one wants to see another person become a victim of a gunshot wound. However, statistically concealed carry permit holders are the most stable and law-abiding demographic in the country. If a person with a carry permit enters a given location while carrying, he/she is not going to just randomly snap and shoot another person; that’s not how the psyche works.

Illegal carry obviously should be prohibited, but that’s who law enforcement should be focusing on getting, not those who are doing things the right way.

It’s a small victory, where gun owners may be able to carry in certain public areas of courthouses, but we will take any victory we get these days.

Court Makes Decision in Case of Bakers Who Refused Gay Wedding Cake

An appeals court in Oregon upheld a fine against bakers who refused to make a wedding cake for a lesbian couple.

Back in 2013, Aaron and Melissa Klein, owners of the now-closed Sweet Cakes by Melissa outside of Portland, were asked to make a wedding cake for the lesbian couple Rachel and Laurel Bowman-Cryer. The couple refused, citing their religious beliefs.

Rather than simply go to another bakery to get their cake, the lesbian couple filed a complaint with the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries. They found the owners in violation of a 10-year-old state law that prohibits discrimination of LGBT couples in “employment, housing and accommodations,” In 2015, they were ordered to pay the Bowman-Cryers “emotional distress” damages.

The Kleins appealed the decision in March 2017, arguing that since it takes artistry to bake a cake, the rule violated their rights as artists to free speech, violated their rights to religious freedom and due process.

Finally, five years after the case began, the Oregon Court of Appeals sided with the state and upheld the penalty, NBC reports.

The Bowman-Cryers applauded the ruling, saying it was a victory for equality.

“It does not matter how you were born or who you love. All of us are equal under the law and should be treated equally. Oregon will not allow a ‘Straight Couples Only’ sign to be hung in bakeries or other stores,” the couple stated.

Nancy Marcus, an attorney with LGBTQ legal and civil rights group Lambda Legal, which filed a friend-of-the-court brief in the case, said the ruling “is both critically important and completely unsurprising.”

“The court’s decision is unsurprising because it is consistent with decisions by courts across the country that have similarly refused to create a new constitutional right of businesses to exempt themselves from civil rights laws and harm same-sex couples through discriminatory denials of service,” Marcus told NBC News via email.

The First Liberty Institute, a conservative group representing the Kleins, said in a statement they were disappointed.

“Today, the Oregon Court of Appeals decided that Aaron and Melissa Klein are not entitled to the Constitution’s promises of religious liberty and free speech,” Kelly Shackelford, the organization’s president and CEO, said in a statement. “In a diverse and pluralistic society, people of good will should be able to peacefully coexist with different beliefs. We are disappointed that the court ruled against the Kleins.”

The decision in Oregon comes just weeks after the Supreme Court heard similar arguments in Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission.

A decision in that case is expected by June. The Department of Justice filed a brief in support of the Colorado baker, Jack Phillips, who refused to custom-make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple.

As in the Oregon case, gay couple Charile Craig and David Mullins decided to initiate a costly legal battle to destroy a private business owner rather than simply finding a baker who had no religious objection to making a cake for them.

What do you think? How will the Supreme Court rule? Sound off below!

Man freaks out after breaking Plinko record on The Price is Right

A contestant on The Price is Right named Ryan had an incredible reaction when he broke the record for the chip-dropping game Plinko. On his first drop, he landed his chip on the $10,000 slot. With his second chip, he won another $1,000, and his third chip gained him $10,000 more. He landed $500 with his fourth chip, and his fifth and final chip won him another $10,000. Ryan won a whopping $31,500, beating the old record of $30,500.

Man guesses “A Streetcar Naked Desire” on Wheel of Fortune

With only one letter left to solve a puzzle, a Wheel of Fortune contestant named Kevin bungled his chances at winning by asking for the wrong letter. The board read “A STREETCAR NA_ED DESIRE” and Kevin asked for a “K,” assuming the word was “naked.” Of course, his guess was incorrect, and fellow contestant Lisa swooped in for the steal, easily solving the puzzle.

The Price is Right has record-breaking Showcase Showdown

In September, The Price is Right made history with a record-setting Showcase Showdown with the most money ever being given away just on the spins made on the show’s iconic big wheel. Contestants were awarded $10,000 rather than the regular $1,000 for spinning $1 on the wheel in celebration of Drew Carey’s 10th anniversary hosting the show. After five spins landing on $1, a total of $80,000 was awarded to the lucky contestants.

Jeopardy! contestants botch sports-themed questions

Jeopardy! contestants have proven themselves time and again to be unbelievably clever when it comes to answering general-knowledge questions — unless those questions happen to be about sports, that is. In one September episode, an NFL-themed category resulted in a string of incorrect responses.

Then in April, the final Jeopardy question was about an NBA sports mascot that “peaked 75 million years ago.” Two contestants answered correctly (the Toronto Raptors) while one guessed it was a timber wolf, bringing her winnings down to $0.

$1M jackpot lost due to “baked zucchini” on Wheel of Fortune

A man and his granddaughter came ridiculously close to winning the elusive $1-million jackpot on a November episode of Wheel of Fortune. The pair secured the $1-million wedge from the wheel during regular play, which puts the highest jackpot possible on the final puzzle wheel. They even unknowingly selected the $1 million prize. But when it came time to solve the final puzzle, the pair were stumped by the phrase “baked zucchini.”

Al Sharpton’s Youngest Daughter Faces Charges After Birthday Celebration Ends in Harassing a Cab Driver – by Brian Thomas

Al Sharpton’s daughter’s birthday celebration ended with Ashley Sharpton facing charges for a bizarre, cruel crime.

Al Sharpton, the baptist minister and MSNBC figure, has been a controversial figure for years. According to Sharpton, even the weed industry is too white.

This time, though, it’s his daughter who’s making the news, not for her opinions, but for crime.

Ashley Sharpton was celebrating her 30th birthday with three friends in New York City.

Just before 1 a.m., she and her friends got into a cab, but all gave the driver different directions. The cab driver pulled over because the four couldn’t decide where they were going.

According to police sources, that’s when Ashley grabbed the driver’s keys from the ignition and got out of the vehicle. The cab driver also got out, demanding his keys back.

Sharpton then allegedly pushed and hit the driver, threw the keys, and left the scene.

Officers say they took her into custody on W. 46th St, and she now faces charges of petty larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.

Ashley told her father that they’re lying.

New York Daily News reports:

“She told me it didn’t happen the way they said it happened but I can’t speak for a 30-year-old woman,” Rev. Al Sharpton told the Daily News. His daughter couldn’t be immediately reached for comment.

The clash began just before 1 a.m. on W. 48th St. and Ninth Ave.

[…] Sharpton, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, snatched his keys from the ignition, according to cops. She jumped out of the car and threw the keys – which the cabbie didn’t see.

The cab driver approached her, demanding his keys back, when she began shoving him, according to police sources.

Sharpton then ran off.

What an awful thing to do to someone.

Officers took Ashley into custody about two hours later. She was given a desk appearance ticket and sent home.

The charges come just months after protest-related disorderly conduct charges were dropped in Manhattan Criminal Court. The New York Post reported that the charges would be dropped “if they stayed out of trouble.”

Well, that didn’t happen.

The New York Post gives details about what the cab driver, Georges Coly, says happened:

Sharpton then snatched his keys out of the ignition and started “shaking [them] in my face saying, ‘I have the keys, I’m not leaving,’” Coly recalled.

The desperate cabbie asked one of her friends to talk some sense into her, but instead she started walking away.

“I followed her for over a block begging for my keys back and I had to step in front of her and ask,” Coly recalled. That’s when “she swung at my face and ended up punching me in the chest.”

“I don’t have your keys,” she allegedly spat before later admitting she chucked them.

Coly called the police who arrested Sharpton around 3 a.m. on West 45th Street and charged her with petty larceny.

Al Sharpton’s youngest daughter’s actions speak louder than her words ever could. Some thirty-year-old’s birthday doesn’t give her the right to bully people.

I only wonder what story Ashley had for her father, since “it didn’t happen the way they said it happened,” in this case, sounds a lot like, “It happened, but he deserved it, and it’s my special day.”
